Children being the most tender section of society, their needs have to be recognized, respected and safe guarded. There are certain rights agreed upon by the United Nations Organization to see that every child in this world is given the best possible start in life, in an environment of love and care for them to grow, learn and develop to the fullest.

But most of the children don’t enjoy these rights. Poverty, death of parents, broken families, and war are some reasons for this unfortunate situation. The child who dose not gets a square meal is exploited by heartless adults. They are deprived of their happy school life, participation in sports, trips and made to work as servants.

Child abuse is a common occurrence in the world today. Innocent children are made use of to please the whims and fancies of adults. They are beaten and harassed, but there is no one to listen to them.

The children of today will be the adults of tomorrow. Children who do not grow up in a suitable environment will not only be failures in life but also begin to hate society and also they can end up being criminals.

To prevent these kinds of things laws against child abuse should be strictly enforced by the authorities and those who are found guilty, should certainly be punished. Let us all children will enjoy these rights.

CHILDREN AND THE NATION

Children are valuable asset of country. They are those who should take of the country in future. Thus, it is the responsibility of the adults to see to needs of the children. The first day of the October has been proclaimed “Universal Children’s Day”. Every year on this day international attention is focused on children all over the world.

Every child has a right to receive and affection. He may also obtain proper nutrition and necessary medicine, obtain knowledge freely, play and have pleasure, have a name and a race and receive protection from the society, if he is handicapped, etc.

Do all the children in our society practically enjoy these rights? There have been many instances; the children have been deprived of these rights by the adults. These adults are said to have exploited the innocence of children to archive their own objectives.

The future of a nation depends on how the younger generation is being raised. Brutal crimes heard from all around nowadays are partly a result of bad upbringing. Children should be protected like flowers. The effect of any damage to their tender soul will be very harmful.
